Clarke Electric Cooperative and its Operation Round-Up® Board have proudly donated $2,000 to Almost Home Animal Rescue in Lucas County. 

Thanks to a group of highly motivated animal lovers, the former Humane Society of Lucas County is now Almost Home Animal Shelter after the Humane Society made the difficult decision to cease operation in August, 2022, due to low funding, lack of volunteers and needed repairs.

Later that year, the Humane Society board agreed to turn over the assets to a new Board of Directors who organized as the new entity. Since then, the group has worked to raise funds, enlist volunteers and make improvements to pass state inspection so they can open the doors.
