What is an Energy Adjustment Charge?
The Power Cost Adjustment Charge (PCA) is a way to adjust the fluctuating monthly cost of wholesale power over or under the established kWh rate.
When Clarke Electric receives its monthly power bill from its power provider, Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO), that increase or decrease in power cost from the base kWh rate is passed on to the member-consumer through the PCA.
Technically, the PCA is not a rate increase, but it has the same results. However, when the cost of power decreases that savings is passed on to the member-consumer as well. Clarke Electric is committed to keeping rates as stable as possible while maintaining financial obligations.
